A Bit About Us
We have been working in stained glass since 1985 and are lucky enough to have our home and studio based in beautiful Coquetdale.  Our work includes commissions for private homes & public buildings in Northumberland, around the UK & beyond.  We use both traditional and more contemporary techniques including traditional painting & staining, etching, fusing & glass mosaic.  We also run stained glass & glass mosaic courses at various venues in Northumberland.  For further information about our work or classes please email or phone us.

The Glass
Glass is a wonderful medium, with many types available from around the world. Swirls and streaks of flowing colour in handmade glass, striations and sharpness of antique drawn, ripples and movement in waterglass, textures and mottles in machine rolled cathedral and then there is flashed glass in cobalt blue, flaming red, deepest green to mention only a few, which can be sandblasted and etched to create stunning effects. Unlike common window glass, which is perfectly smooth and flawless, art glass seeks visual character through aesthetic “imperfections” which form textural waves and striations, random bubbles and a variety of other natural effects.

What we do
We use a wide range of techniques, some of which have remained the same for centuries, such as painting, staining and firing; others, we have adapted and re-invented to achieve a more contemporary style, for instance etching, sandblasting and kiln forming glass.

We design each piece specifically for its location; it can be calm or exciting, thought provoking or humorous, whatever is required to create the right mood. Traditional designs can be re-created to match existing stained glass or the period of your home. Contemporary or traditional, in the right location, using colour, texture and line, a perfect ambiance of colourful light can be created.

What you need to do
Commissioning work is simple, you don’t even need to leave your armchair, just give us a call, if you’re in the North East – we’ll visit you to discuss your ideas, we’ll measure up, go to our drawing board, put our pencils into action and design just what you wanted, if you’re from further afield we can make arrangements by post or Email. You have no commitment until you’re entirely happy with the design.
